Complete: shared zone in part of Bunny Street
Part of Bunny Street, adjacent to Victoria University of Wellington's business and law schools, is now a shared zone. This means people on bikes can ride both ways between Lambton Quay and Featherston Street.
New signs let people know they can ride both ways on this section of Bunny Street.
How this will help
This is one of a series of changes to improve connections and make it safer and easier for people to get places in the central city by bike.
Incremental changes like these will together help create a better cycling network.
- The feedback period on the traffic changes (resolutions) related to this proposal was 25 July to 11 August 2017.
- Councillors approved the proposal in mid-September 2017.
