We're making it safer and easier for people who ride bikes

This is one of a series of projects that will together provide a safer and easier route for people riding between the eastern suburbs and Newtown, via Crawford Road, part of Constable Street, and parts of Coromandel and Wilson streets. In time, this route will also connect with a wider network of improvements in Newtown, Berhampore and Mt Cook.

Work to install the uphill section of bike lane on Constable Street, from Coromandel Street to Alexandra Road, started on Monday 15 October. This work will take about a month.

Work on the uphill bike lane on Crawford Road, from Rongotai Road up to Alexandra Road, will start from 29 October. All this work is expected to be finished during December. View the construction details.

Councillors approved the project in March 2018 following community engagement last year.
