Stops 7212 & 6212 (Elizabeth Street at Kent Terrace and near #7)

Changes for these stops include:

Retaining the stops at the same location, slightly shifted to align better with the existing shelters. On stop 6212 the bus box size is reduced, and on 7212 the bus box size is the same. Both stops have the entry and exit tapers extended to allow buses to pull into and out of the stops.

Stop 7212

Bus stop box remains at 20m, but shifts slightly to the west

  • 2.5m of no stopping at all times marking added to the exit taper
  • 20m of ‘no stopping at all times’ marking added to the entry taper
  • This results in the loss of 2 coupon parking spaces (Monday-Friday 8.00am-6.00pm)

 Stop 6212

  • Bus stop box reduced to 20m
  • 12.5m ‘no stopping at all times’ marking added to the exit taper of stop

Stops 7213 & 6213 - Brougham Street at Elizabeth Street and near number 51

Changes for these stops include:

  • Lengthening both stops, with minor changes to positioning and entry and exit tapers added.

Stop 7213

  • Stop lengthened to 21.9m and moved slightly north.

Stop 6213

  • Stop lengthened to 20m and shifted 16.1m up the road (southwest).
  • 16.1m ‘no stopping at all times’ marking added to bus entry taper
  • 9m ‘no stopping at all times’ marking added to bus exit taper
  • This results in the loss of 3-4 coupon parking spaces (Monday-Friday 8.00am-6.00pm) outside numbers 53-57 Brougham Street.

Pirie St / Brougham St intersection

Changes for the intersection includes:

  • Extend no stopping at all times marking between 53 and 57 Pirie Street to accommodate articulated bus tracking around the corner
  • Installing a new pedestrian crossing. The new crossing results in the loss of 3 coupon parking spaces (Monday-Friday 8.00am-6.00pm) and 2 resident parking spaces.
  • New kerb buildouts for pedestrian crossing.

Stops 7214 & 6214 - Pirie Street at Porritt Avenue, near number 66 and 77

Changes for these stops include:

Retaining stops at current location with minor changes to positioning to improve stop sizing, with a kerb buildout to be added to stop 7214 and entry and exit tapers added.

Stop 7214

  • Stop lengthened to 20m
  • Install a new bus platform to allow buses against the kerb without impacting the verandah
  • This results in the P15 parking space outside Mitesh Foodmarket being relocated down the road to outside 64 Pirie Street, this P15 replaces an existing Coupon parking space.

Stop 6214

  • Stop lengthened to approximately 24m
  • 21m ‘no stopping at all times’ marking added to bus entry taper
  • 9m ‘no stopping at all times’ marking added to bus exit taper
  • This results in the loss of 2 resident parking spaces outside 79 & 81 Pirie Street

Stop 7215 - Pirie Street, near number 106

We propose to remove this stop as it can’t accommodate additional or longer buses and add 22.5m of ‘no stopping at all times’ marking in its place and in front of 106 Pirie Street. The new no-stopping lines here extend across two existing fire hydrants. There is less than 5.4m between the two hydrants, so it’s not long enough to be marked as a useable space without covering the hydrants.

Stop 6215 - Pirie Street at the Bus Tunnel

Changes for this stop includes:

Retaining the stop at current location, with minor changes to positioning to improve stop sizing – which means lengthening the stops to accommodate additional and/or longer buses and providing entry and exit tapers to allow buses to pull into and out of the stop.

  • Stop lengthened to 20m
  • 9m ‘no stopping at all times’ marking added to bus entry taper
  • Approximately 20m of ‘no stopping at all times’ marking added after the bus stop
  • This results in the loss of 2 resident parking spaces outside #119 Pirie Street
