How we're installing the changes

While some early works were completed end of 2023, our contractor Downer will be getting installing the rest of the changes from early 2024.

We'll be providing regular construction updates and advance notice of works where we can via our enewsletter.

What to expect during construction

For work happening in your immediate area, Downer will deliver letters to give 48 hours’ notice. They will have crews working in several locations. The work will be done in stages and is expected to take several months.

The work involves:

  • painting new road markings
  • installing physical dividers between bike lanes and general traffic lanes
  • low rubber speed humps to reduce speeds at driveways
  • building new raised crossings and raising the existing pedestrian crossings.

Work hours will generally be 7am to 6pm, Monday to Saturday.Traffic management will be put in place at times when required, including stop/go signs.

Cones and barriers will be in place where required, but people will be able to get to shops and businesses in the vicinity, and people on foot will still be able to safely get past the work site and cross the road. If any issues should arise around access or deliveries, construction staff on site will be able to help.
